Baby Eczema on Face

Many babies may develop a symptom known as baby eczema on face. It is one of the most common skin problems for children and it usually starts at a very early age. It can start anywhere from a couple weeks of age all the way to a couple months of age. Eczema is a dry skin condition. It becomes flaky and itchy, which can become infected if scratching occurs. If the skin becomes infected the child will more than likely have to take antibiotics. The skin can also become inflamed during a case of eczema.

Some parents think that this disease is the cause of poor skin care, but that is not at all the case here. The skin can look great one day and look worse the next day. This does not mean that the skin is dirty or unclean. There is no cure for eczema, but there is a good chance that it will disappear as she gets older. Usually by the age of six years old the child has grown out of eczema.

There are many different things you can do to make eczema better. The most important part of relieving eczema is to keep the skin soft and moist. Doing daily baths is great at helping the skin, but use a bath oil and soap substitute to keep the skin from getting dry. You should also use an antiseptic at least twice a week to reduce the skin from becoming colonized with bacteria. Another good idea would be to use warm water, not hot, as heat makes the skin itch. Instead of rubbing the skin when drying you should pat the skin dry.
